How it works

From enquiry to money in the account

Seven stages, run in order, some of them side by side. Here's what happens in each and what it needs from you.

The fastest business loans aren't the ones where somebody works through the night. They're the ones where each stage starts the moment the previous one finishes, because nothing is missing. This is the sequence your file follows, in plain English.

  1. 1

Enquiry — about 60 seconds, any hour

Amount, purpose, deadline, state and any property you own. No credit check at this point, and your details go to one team only.

  2. 2

First call — the next business-hours slot

A lending specialist confirms the details, asks about the exit and anything that could slow things down, then tells you exactly what to send.

  3. 3

Assessment — often a couple of working hours

Bank statements, credit and tax position, and either property equity or turnover are weighed up against the amount and the exit.

  4. 4

Valuation and verification — run side by side

For property: a desktop, short-form or full valuation plus a title search. For everyone: ID, ABN and company checks.

  5. 5

    Approval and documents

Conditional approval, documents issued and read, every party signs (often electronically), then conditions are cleared for unconditional approval.

  6. 6

Settlement — on a business day

For property-secured loans, the caveat or mortgage is lodged and any existing loan is paid out. For unsecured loans, the approved amount is released.

  7. 7

    Funds land

Money goes to your account or straight to the payee. Fast payments can land within moments; others settle during business hours.

Where does time usually get lost?

Almost always in the gaps between stages: bank statements that aren't ready, an ATO balance nobody mentioned, a co-owner who can't sign until tomorrow, a payout figure that wasn't requested, or documents finished too late in the afternoon to settle. Each one has its own page in what stops the clock, with a fix you can apply before you enquire.

How do time zones and holidays fit in?

Settlement and most lending teams work eastern business hours, so a Perth, Darwin or Brisbane business sees the day end earlier on its own clock, especially during eastern daylight saving. Weekends and key public holidays pause property settlements everywhere. The time-zone hub explains your state's window.

The 24-Hour Funding Clock lays these stages over your enquiry time, state, security and paperwork, and shows the earliest realistic window. When you're ready, a real person can take it from there — there's no credit check to ask, your details stay with one team, and accurate answers get you the right option first time.

Common questions

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on the enquiry time, security, paperwork and calendar. $20k to $250k possible same day (property-secured); up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours; same-day funding possible for smaller unsecured amounts. The 24-Hour Funding Clock shows your own realistic window.

Does enquiring affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check is only discussed once you've heard your options and decided to proceed.

Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?

No. Your enquiry is handled by one team who work your file directly. You won't get calls from a string of companies you've never heard of.

What should I have ready?

Six months of business bank statements, photo ID for every director and guarantor, your ATO position, and for property loans a rates notice and a statement for any existing loan. The Paperwork Stopwatch checks the list with you.

Why do you ask for so much detail on the form?

Because your answers choose the track your file runs on. Accurate details about the amount, your state and any property let the first call start on the right option instead of correcting the wrong one.
